Now let’s dive into how you can customize your entire Video Collector into your chosen language.

Localizing Your Video Collector

These are the aspects of your Collector you can customize:

Welcome page

The Collector title and introduction text can be customized into any language. From the Welcome Page tab, you can edit your welcome message and incentives.

From the Advanced tab, you can edit every bit of text by selecting Customize Collector Text. This includes “How it works” and even the “Let’s Go” button.

Questions

Your questions can be customized into another language. If you have additional tips, you can also customize them for each question. Just click the tiny cog over each question to customize those tips.

Pro tip: if you use the formatting tool, you can get certain parts of your text to show up in the accent color.

If you want to further customize the buttons on the bottom, toggle Advanced from the side bar and select Customize Collector Text.

Here is where you can make changes so that “How would you like to respond?” and the two record buttons can be changed. Be careful not to edit {{step_number}} as it is a variable and your Collector may look weird if you make typos in that address.

Attribution & Thank You Page

y selecting the Attribution Page or Thank-you page from the side bar, you can control the text people see after they respond to your questions.

For a higher level of customization, go to Advanced and Customize Collector Text. Here, you have control over the default text and more.

Custom Waiver

Note: This part will be customizable only with Pro or Enterprise subscription. Learn more about custom waivers and what they look like

While your waiver may be written in another language, there are certain phrases you may want to localize as well. Just select Advanced from the left bar and Customize Collector Text. Find the Custom Video Release UI tab. Text that you can edit include:

  • Video release
  • I agree to the {{video release}}
  • Agreement is required to continue
  • I agree to the above terms
  • Close

Technical Parts of the Collector

Before the respondent replies to their first question via your Collector, they may need to toggle between cameras, give microphone permissions, and more.

If you want to maximize the localization, select Advanced from the left bar and Customize Collector Text

Text Fields that allow further customization are:

  • Desktop Video/Audio Recorder
  • Desktop Camera Permission Overlay
  • Mobile Response Uploading

Privacy

You can customize the words Privacy and Terms to your own language.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use languages with non-Latin letters, such as Chinese, Russian, or Arabic?

Yes! Our Video Collector allows any text.

Can your software be in another language other than English?

Vocal Video’s editing capabilities are limited to English at the moment.

The transcription is wrong!

Our transcription is created with Amazon AI but even in English, it’s not perfect! A clear speaker may still require some edits, such as removing “um” and fixing formatting.

First and foremost, make sure your transcription language is set to what you’re looking for, and stay tuned to the latest advancements of AI :-)

Your transcription doesn’t include my language.

While we can’t promise the availability of your language, you can always write support@vocalvideo.com. We review all requests as we make updates to the platform.

Can I have the terms in another language other than English?

Since we are a company based in California, our terms of service will stay in English. You can translate them and send them to your respondents.

However, with a Pro subscription, you can provide a custom release entirely in your own language.
