How to Share and Embed Videos

After you publish a video in Vocal Video, you can embed it on your website, share a branded public page, post it on social media, download it for other platforms, or automate sharing with an integration. You can see tons of ways Vocal Video customers embed videos and galleries in this collection of examples.

This guide covers the most common sharing options:

Embed an individual video

  1. In Vocal Video, open Videos.
  2. Select the published video you want to share.
  3. Click Share.
  4. Open the Embed tab.
  5. Click Copy Embed Code to copy the standard responsive embed code.
  6. Paste the code into your website, landing page, blog, or CMS where you want the video to appear.

Your embed updates automatically when you edit and republish the video in Vocal Video. For platform-specific instructions, see Adding Vocal Video Embed Codes to Your Site.

Customize an embed

From the Embed tab in the Share dialog, click Customize to adjust the embedded player's appearance before copying the code.

Depending on the embed type, you can adjust options such as appearance preset, maximum width, corner style, shadow, alignment, and playback behavior.

After choosing your settings, copy the embed code and paste it into your site. To see examples of available embed styles, see What do Video Embeds Look Like?.

Design and embed a video card

Video Cards are rich previews that combine your video with a quote and attribution. They are useful for landing pages, testimonial pages, and customer story sections where you want more context than a player alone.

  1. Open the published video.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Open the Embed tab.
  4. Click Create a Video Card.
  5. Design the card and choose the quote or attribution details you want to show.
  6. Click Copy Embed Code.
  7. Paste the code into your site.

For more detail, see How to Create Video Cards With Featured Quotes.

Galleries let you share multiple videos or Video Cards together. You can create slideshows, carousels, walls of love, grids, and lists.

  1. In Vocal Video, open Galleries.
  2. Create a new gallery or open an existing one.
  3. Add the published videos you want to include.
  4. Use the gallery design settings to choose the layout, card style, colors, fonts, logo placement, and other display options.
  5. Open the gallery's sharing or embed options.
  6. Copy the embed code and paste it into your site.

If you add videos to a gallery later, or edit and republish videos that are already in the gallery, the embedded gallery updates automatically. For more detail, see Video Galleries Overview.

Share a public video page

Each published video can have a branded public page. This is useful when you do not have a website page ready for an embed, or when you want to share a quick link in email, Slack, or a sales follow-up.

  1. Open the published video.
  2. Click Share.
  3. From the Email tab, click Copy Link to copy the public page URL.
  4. Paste the link wherever you want to share the video.

Public video pages use your company's branding and do not include ads.

On paid plans, you can disable a video's public page or control whether it can be indexed by search engines from the video's publishing and settings options. See Video Visibility & SEO Settings for details.

To share a link to a published video on social media:

  1. Open the published video.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Open the Social tab.
  4. Choose the social platform you want to use, or copy the link and thumbnail details for your post.
  5. Add your own message and publish the post from the social platform.

For best results in feeds where videos autoplay, download the video file and upload it directly to the social platform instead of sharing a link. See How to Share Video Testimonials on Facebook, Tips for using Video Testimonials on Instagram, and Optimizing Vocal Video for TikTok.

Download and upload to other video platforms

Platforms such as YouTube, Wistia, Vidyard, Instagram, and TikTok usually require you to upload the video file directly.

  1. Open the published video.
  2. Click Download.
  3. Download the video file.
  4. Upload the file to the platform where you want to host or post it.
  5. If needed, download and upload the thumbnail image generated by Vocal Video.

If you are posting to Instagram from a phone, download the file on your computer and transfer it to your mobile device, or sign in to Vocal Video from your mobile browser and download the video there.

For more detail, see How to Download Videos and Creating Video Thumbnails.

Automate video sharing with an integration

If you want to share every newly published video automatically, use a Vocal Video integration. You can create integrations that send published videos to other tools, notify your team, or start cross-posting workflows. See Integrations and Automation: the Complete Guide for setup details.

When you share a Vocal Video publicly, tag @vocalvideo or use #VocalVideo so we can see and amplify your post.
