About Video Themes in Vocal Video

Vocal Video Themes define the visual and motion style of your videos. Each theme automatically adapts to your branding, color scheme, and any scenes your videos include.

Each theme has distinctive typography, accents, scene transitions, fonts, and background music. The best way to see how themes work is to try different ones in the video editor and preview your videos.

Switch Between Themes

  1. In the Video Editor, click the Themes button on the right side of the screen.
  2. Select a theme name to preview it.

Each theme automatically applies your brand kit’s color scheme.

Tip: You can duplicate a video and apply different themes to create variations for different platforms. For example, you might use our default theme Europa for a full-length video but use something with more distinctive flair like Atlas for a social-media promo.

Preview Pro Themes

Some themes — including Atlas, Sirius, Callisto, and Janus — are available to Pro and Enterprise customers.

Even if you’re on a Free or Essential plan, you can still preview these themes in the Video Editor.

Theme Examples

Each theme gives a unique look and feel to your video scenes. Here are examples of how various scenes vary by theme. Note: scroll down for examples of full videos.

For example, Atlas and Callisto feature more subtle motion.

Theme Examples in Full Videos

Watch how the same video appears with different themes applied:

  • Europa (Default) — includes Shaded and Flat styles. Europa Shaded uses gradients, while Europa Flat uses solid colors.
  • Atlas (Pro)

  • Sirius (Pro)

  • Callisto (Pro)

  • Janus (Pro)

Set a Default Theme

You can choose a default theme in your Default Video Settings.

This theme will automatically apply to new video drafts.

Changing your default theme won’t affect existing drafts or published videos.

Customize Theme Settings

Each theme includes its own default:

  • Fonts
  • Color mappings (where the colors in your brand kit are used in the video)
  • Background music

You can override these settings on any individual video, and you can also override them on all new videos, regardless of theme, in Default Video Settings (learn more here).

Example:

If you prefer the Callisto theme but want to use a custom headline font, set that font as the default in your settings — it will apply to all new videos using any theme.

What Themes Control — and What They Don’t

Themes define your video’s overall look, typography, transitions, and background music.

They don’t change your video’s content, sequence, or clips — only how they’re presented.
